Director Certification Program (DCP) and Advanced Director Training (ADT)
The Director Certification Program (DCP) provides participants with information for improving skills used in fulfilling their roles as cooperative directors. The four phases cover cooperative principles and practices; roles and responsibilities of directors; directors’ legal obligations; long-range strategic planning; understanding and using financial statements; and management evaluation and compensation.
DCP is conducted annually in January. The next offering will be January 3-4, 2018 at the Hampton Inn in Kearney. Each phase is a day-long program with two phases offered each day in separate rooms (Phases 1 and 3 on January 3; and Phases 2 and 4 on January 4).
NEW FOR 2018: The Advanced Director Training (ADT) is being offered in response to increased interested of experienced board members and suggestions from management teams. It is a one-day program for those who have completed all four phases of DCP, have served on their local board for several years, and would like a refresher course. See the education booklet for the topics to be covered this year.
